AEDES
AEDES (Asociación Especializada para el Desarrollo Sostenible), is a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) working for sustainable development in the protected natural area (ANP) of the reserve of the Cotahuasi Sub-basin, south of Peru. Since 1994 AEDES works with the local population in the implementation of human and political rights, helps them to develop bionegocios and to manage the rich biodiversity of this region. The ultimate aims of AEDES are both local sustainable development and the improvement of the population’s standard of living. In order to achieve them AEDES mainly works to stimulate ecotourism and to develop exports of bioagricultural products.

The Andean Committee for the Prevention and Attention to Disasters-(CAPRADE) and the project “Support for Disaster’s Prevention in the Andean Community” (PREDECAN), have impulsed the implementation of strategies for the prevention and attention of disasters – EAPAD. They convene to institutions to present experiences in the Andean Contest:"Policies and Practices for Local Development in Disaster Risk situation: Identifying significant experience in countries of the Andean sub region" and in which were participants the counties of Peru, Ecuador, Colombia and Bolivia, (in November 2007).
